    Make sure to park your car so that you are not hindering traffic. During the last stretch of the hike do not cross the private farm land. Only throw trash in the designated garbage can down the road.

    Lyngli was bought in June 2016 and joined the cabin network in august the same year to add to the list of cabins easily accessible using public transportation. The cabin is also easy to get to in the winter without being a skiing expert. The cabin is located at a former small croft which was abandoned when the people who lived there emigrated to America. The current cabin was build around 1940, partially with used materials. Next to the entrance we can see that some of the parts are from the 1880s!

    At Lyngli you can sit in the living room and enjoy a game of cards, pick berries in the forest, as well as hiking to the mountains nearby. You can also expand your cabin trip by going to Taagaabu or Kråklikåten. From Kråklikåten you can continue on to Nicokoia or Lynhøgen!
    Lyngli has 13 sleeping places divided into a sleeping room and the attic.
    Please remember to bring all your trash back to Trondheim.


    Route description

    With a car you follow E6 south to Støren, and then FV30 towards Røros to Kotsøy. At Kotsøy you turn right towards Budal (Don't take the right hand turn at the narrow bridge at Rognes even though there is a Budal-sign there!) and drive about 5 km up the road. The parking is on the right when you are done with the steepest slope (Please park in a sensible manner!). From here you can follow a track through a pasture up to the cabin (about 250m).
    Using public transportation you take the bus or train to Kotsøy and follow the car road towards Budal. The train station is on the opposite side of the river in Kotsøy. Consider bringing a bike, it will make the road home MUCH quicker!
    Because most of the way to the cabin is along a road without sidewalks we highly recommend that you bring a reflector or a high-visibility vest!

    Parking

    Summer: Park at the spot along the right side of the road, marked with NTNUI. Make sure that you don't block traffic to fields or buildings! Winter: Park along the road at a plowed intersection or dig out a spot at the summer parking!
