The wood at the cabin is in a little shed, next to the wall on the right side of the cabin. There might be some nails in the pile of planks by the cabin - be careful!

Early in 1977 the cabin group tried to find some object to renovate in the surroundings of Rindal. The goal was to come closer to Trollheimen and with bus connection with not too long travelling time. The member of the cabin group sent out to search the area was not succesful, all the huts looked quite occupied. On the way down to Bolme he was suddenly standing in front of a small cabin...

Some people didn't believe in this project but the surroundings convinced them and soon the contract with the owners was signed. In autumn 1978 the cabin was renovated, new panels were set on the outer side, wood storage and loft were built. The result is a quite cosy and small cabin.

As mentioned Trollheimen is close and gives a lot of possibilities for trips. You best use a complete map for Trollheimen! It can even be possible to reach Snota or Trollhetta. Or you can continue to one of the cabins of Turistforeningen in Trollheimen!

    Route description

It's easy to come to Rindalsløa. You can take the bus from Trondheim and leave that in Bolme (behind Rindal). But be careful - not all busses take the route via Bolme, sometimes you have to leave the bus at the main road. From the bridge it's ca. 500 meters towards Rindal before you reach Bolme.

From the farm in Bolme you have to go southwards along a road, cross a hill and down to a bridge across the river Bulu. If you come by car you can park here, but ask first! Follow this road some kilometres. Soon after crossing some power lines you reach open marches. Here you leave the road slightly to the right across the march and upwards. Then you turn slightly left towards a small lake. Follow the open places in south east direction to the cabin. It's is situated on the west side of a large march. In winter there is a scooter track up to the marches and quite often towards the cabin. Normally it takes 1 - 1,5 h to reach the cabin, on the way back only 45 minutes. It might be that the road is continuing further than shown on your map!
