Route description

Bus summer/winter
Take the bus to Grindal in Rennebu. It takes around 2 1/2 hours. From here you follow the route to Bjørklund for cars to Telin, from the bus stop it's ca. 10km to Telin.
OBS: There are no buses here on Saturdays.

Car summer
By car it's easier to reach Telin. Drive to Orkanger first, then continue to Meldal via Storås, pass å and take the road to Nerskogen / Jøldalshytta (directly behind Grindal).

In summer you can follow the signs to Jøldalshytta (blue P), pass a fox farm that you can see on the left side of the road, turn left and pay at the hut at the cross. Then you can drive some kilometres before a new pay road goes to the left, signed Trollstua / Tælmyran. Take this road on the west side of Tælmyran. From where you have to pay it's 4,1km from the signs to the cabin. You can almost park next to the cabin. Before the way goes up to the right, the cabin lies 75 meters on the left hand side.

NB! There are two tolls on this road. The first one costs 90 kr and the second one is 50 kr. If you use the winter parking at Tippen, the only toll you need to pay is the one that costs 90 kr. The first toll accepts cards, and the second toll accepts cash and VIPPS.

Car winter Tippen
In the winter, there are two possible parkings. One alternative is along the summer road to the cabin, but the winter parking is around 3 km from the cabin. The road is plowed to the parking Friday and Saturday before 10 o’clock, and sundays before 11 o’clock. You need to pay 90 NOK for the parking and the toll road. From Tippen, there is a cross country ski track leading towards the cabin. From the place you leave the track, it’s about 200 meters to the cabin. The track is usually groomed on Saturdays, and sometimes on the weekdays. You can find information and the status of the track at skisporet.no. We encourage you to show consideration to the tracks. If you haven’t got skis, you’ll have to walk on the very edge of the tracks, to not damage the track.

Car winter Bjørklund
In the winter, you can also drive the road to Granasjøen until you reach Bjørklund, an old farmhouse on the left hand side. This means that you don't drive in towards Jøldalshytta. Bjørklund is 6km from Grindal. From here you cross the river Grana (bridge), turn left (south west) and go parallel to the river Hela. On the map you will se a path but it might be hard to see. If you have the feeling that you have come out of the small canyon you were following, you have to go on for some hundred meters and look for the cabin on the right side of the river. But the canyon might be hard to see in winter. It's not longer than 3 kilometers and 130 meters of height from the bridge to the cabin. Don't forget that the first 3/4 parts of the trip you have to go to the south west and not north west.

In winter you can often find ski tracks if you cross Tælmyran and go northwards. Those go along Vorafjellet and down to the Jøldalshytta-road. A nice alternative if you want to take the bus!

Degree of difficulty

	1)	For beginners. These cabins are easy to find and a road is going all the way to the cabin. You should anyhow be familiar with map and compass.
	2)	For those with some experience. Characteristic for this category is that the cabins are not far from the nearest road and that the terrain is simple to walk in.
	3)	For experienced users. These cabins are situated farther from the nearest road and require good orienteering skills. May be exposed to the weather during winter.
	4)	For ambitious users. What distinguishes these cabins from level 3 is that the terrain is more demanding on the way to the cabin, as well as that they can be hard to find.
	5)	Demanding. The trip requires that you are familiar with the mountains and are well equipped. Long walking distance and weather conditions might be challenging.
